Front Camber Adjustment

  1. GM2844741

    Remove and DISCARD the steering knuckle upper (2) and lower (1) camber adjust nuts.

  2. Install a NEW upper steering knuckle camber adjust nut (2) and a NEW steering knuckle lower camber adjust nut (2) and tighten nuts by hand until they get in contact with the front suspension strut yoke.

    NOTE:

    If the front camber can not be adjusted to match the specifications, check front suspension components for damages or excessive wear.

    Turn the steering knuckle camber adjust bolt (1) inward or outward to adjust the front camber and bring front camber within the specifications stated in the Wheel Alignment Specifications .

  4. Counter the steering knuckle camber adjust bolt (1) with a suitable wrench, not turning the bolt anymore! Turning the bolt from now on will bring the front camber beyond specifications!

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Tighten the steering knuckle upper camber adjust bolt (2) in a first pass to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).

  6. Tighten the steering knuckle lower camber adjust bolt (1) in a first pass to 115 N.m (85 lb ft).
  7. Check, if front camber is still within specifications. If the front camber is beyond specifications, slightly loosen both nuts and repeat steps 3 - 6.
  8. Tighten the steering knuckle upper camber adjust bolt (2) a final pass to an additional 45 - 60 degrees, using the EN-45059  angle meter.
  9. Tighten the steering knuckle lower camber adjust bolt (1) a final pass to an additional 45 - 60 degrees, using the EN-45059  angle meter.
