Removal Procedure

  1. Set the park brake and chock the wheels.
  2. Remove the instrument panel lower center compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Center Compartment Replacement .
  3. Without disconnecting the electrical connector, remove the engine control module and hang aside. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
  4. Verify that the transmission range selector lever is in park position.
  5. Verify that the transmission manual shift lever is in park position.

    Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) from the transmission manual shift lever pin.

  7. Press the locking tabs inward in order to release the transmission range selector lever cable (2) from the cable bracket.

    Release the range selector cable adjuster clip (2).

  9. Press the locking tabs inwards (arrows) in order to release the transmission range selector lever cable (1).
  10. Remove the transmission range selector lever cable from the transmission control.
  11. GM2834260

    Remove the transmission range selector lever cable grommet (2) from the bulkhead (1).

  12. Remove the transmission range selector lever cable (3).
