Circuit System Description
The S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch is wired in series between the signal circuit from the K9 Body Control Module and ground. The K9 Body Control Module monitors the voltage on the signal circuit. The circuit also passes through a normally open switch in the S3 Transmission Shift Lever. When the S3 Transmission Shift Lever is placed Left of D or Driver Shift Control Mode position, the normally open Hall Effect Switch in the S3 Transmission Shift Lever closes and the K9 Body Control Module detects the change in voltage on the signal circuit. When the S3 Transmission Shift Lever is in the Driver Shift Control Mode position and is pressed forward or rearward, one of the corresponding normally open switches in the S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch closes, changing the voltage on the signal circuit. The K9 Body Control Module communicates the Driver Shift Control Mode status and shift requests to the K71 Transmission Control Module via serial data.
