Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the upper engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement - Upper .
  2. Push the timing chain guide - left side (2) in the direction of the arrow.

  3. Fix the tensioner (1) with 2 mm drill bit or equivalent (3).
  4. Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE: The timing components may move taking up slack as soon as the tensioner is removed. Timing integrity should be maintained at this point.
  5. Timing Chain Tensioner (1) - Remove
