Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Move and hold the timing chain guide against the timing chain.

  2. Timing Chain Tensioner (1) - Install
  3. Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 10 N.m (89 lb in) [2x]
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Push the timing chain guide - left side (2) in the direction of the arrow.

  5. Remove the 2 mm drill bit or equivalent (3) from the tensioner (1).
  6. Check the camshaft timing. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Inspection 
    NOTE: The timing components will move during the removal/installation process.
  7. Install the upper engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement - Upper .
