Inspection Procedure

  1. Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke. Set crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (2, 3) line up. Rotate at the crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (1).

  2. Install the EN-51148  holding tool (1) to camshafts and to the cylinder head.

    NOTE: If EN-51148  holding tool does not fit properly, rotate the crankshaft and additional 360 degrees.
    1. Tighten the bolt (3) in the middle.
    2. Tighten the 2 outer bolts (2, 4).
  3. If the EN-51148  holding tool can not be installed, then refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Adjustment .
  4. Check the markings (2) and (3). If the markings not in line then refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Adjustment

  5. Loosen the middle bolt (3) and the 2 outer bolts (2, 4) and remove the EN-51148  holding tool (1).
