Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection

- Oil Pan Drain Plug (3) - Remove
- Oil Pan Drain Plug Seal (2) - Remove and DISCARD
- Clean the oil pan. (1)
- Inspect the oil pan drain plug thread of the oil pan.
- Inspect the oil pan for cracking near the pan rail and the transmission mounting points.
- Inspect the oil pan for cracking resulting from impact or flying road debris.
- Repair or replace the oil pan as necessary.
- Oil Pan Drain Plug Seal (2) - Install a NEW seal.
- Oil Pan Drain Plug (3) - Install and tighten 14 N.m (124 lb in)CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Clean the oil baffle. (1)
- Inspect the oil pan baffle and oil pump suction pipe screen.NOTE: The oil pump suction pipe screen is glued to the oil pan baffle and is not removable.
