Intake Camshaft Removal

  1. Loosen the 12 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts (1), working from outside to inside in a spiral in steps of 1/2 up to 1 turn. See sequence as shown.

    NOTE: Mark the camshaft bearing caps before removal.
  2. Remove the 12 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts (3).

  3. Remove the intake camshaft bearing front cap (2) from the cylinder head.
  4. Remove the 5 intake camshaft bearing caps (4) from the cylinder head.
  5. Remove the intake camshaft (1).
