Engine Front Lower Cover Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Clean the engine lower front cover sealing surfaces.
  2. Apply approximately a 3 mm (0.12 in) thick bead of engine front cover sealant (1) to the engine lower front cover. In the marked areas the width has to be broadened to 4 mm (0.16 in) in order to prevent leakages. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers  for the recommended sealant.

  3. Install the engine lower front cover (1).

  4. Install the 7 engine front cover M6 short bolts (4, 6) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    CAUTION: Fastener Caution
  5. Install the 2 engine front cover M6 long bolts (2, 5) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  6. Install the engine front cover M8 bolt (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  7. Install the engine front cover M10 bolt (3) and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
