Camshaft Timing Chain Installation

Special Tools
- EN-50513 Tensioner Pin
- EN-51148 Camshaft Holding Tool
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
- Adjust the engine to top dead center (TDC). Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Inspection .
- The EN-51148 holding tool must be installed to the camshafts and to the cylinder head.
- Install the timing chain (1) along with the crankshaft sprocket (2) and the cam (3).
NOTE: The cam (3) and the groove at the crankshaft (4) must be in line.NOTE: Mind the chain marks.
- Ensure that the colored link (3) match to the arrow on the oil pump.
- Ensure that the colored links (1, 2) match to the marks on the camshaft position adjuster actuators.
- Install the timing chain tensioner (1).
- Install the 2 timing chain tensioner bolts (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Push the timing chain guide - left side (2) in the direction of the arrow.
- Remove the EN-50513 tensioner pin (3) from the tensioner (1).
- Install the upper timing chain guide (1).
- Install the upper timing chain guide bolts (2) and tighten to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
