Camshaft Cover Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Apply approximately a 5 mm (0.2 in)  thick bead of camshaft cover sealant (2) between the cylinder head (1) and the engine front cover (3). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers  for the recommended sealant.

  2. Camshaft Cover Gasket (2) - Install a NEW gasket.

  3. Camshaft Cover (1) - Install
  4. Camshaft Cover Bolt (2, 5, 6, 7, 9) - Install [16x] - Do NOT tighten.

  5. Camshaft Cover Stud (1, 3, 4, 8) - Install [8x] - Do NOT tighten.
  6. Tighten the camshaft cover bolts and studs in sequence as shown to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

    CAUTION: Fastener Caution
  7. O-Ring (3) - Install a NEW O-ring seal.

  8. Oil Level Indicator Tube (1) - Install
  9. Oil Level Indicator Tube Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 10 N.m (89 lb in)
  10. Oil Level Indicator (1) - Install
