Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
  3. Set up the crankshaft.

  4. Move the crankshaft in the direction of the engine rotation to the first cylinder TDC position (mark 2).
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Remove the spark plugs. Refer to Spark Plug Replacement .
  7. Detach the engine wiring harness from intake manifold, cylinder head cover and engine wiring harness bracket.
  8. Remove the coolant expansion tank closure cap.
  9. Remove the oil dipstick.
  10. Apply guidance marks.

  11. Attach 1 markings (1) as an aid to one of the camshaft adjusters offset by 180° to the marking applied (2).
