Crankcase Ventilation System Description: Operation

With the pressure regulating valve (1) inside the cover cylinder head the system is designed in a way to limit vacuum in the crankcase. On top of the pressure regulating valve is an opening to the ambient, which allows the ambient pressure to act on top of the pressure regulating valve membrane.

In case of damage of a single component of the cam cover, the whole cam cover assembly must be replaced.

In case of a leaking gasket to the cylinder head, only the gasket can be replaced.
