Scan Tool Method - Preferred

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Install a scan tool and turn the ignition ON.
  3. Using the scan tool, select the special function to relief fuel pressure and follow on screen prompts.
  4. Start the vehicle and allow the engine to idle until the engine stops. The engine will stop in approximately 5-20 seconds.
  5. Using the scan tool, verify pressure has dropped to a minimal level.
  6. Turn the ignition OFF.
