Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
WARNING: Refer to Safety Goggles and Fuel Warning .
CAUTION: When working on the fuel rail and fuel injectors, always maintain a clean work surface. Failure to maintain a clean work surface can result in contaminant on the injector seals and cause leaks.
  1. Remove the fuel injection fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement 
  2. Do NOT remove the EN-51146 - 2 - 5  calibration tools (1) except for when servicing the combustion fuel injector seals.

  3. Use a suitable wrench (2) to hold the EN-51146 - 1 - 1  support (3) while removing the corresponding plate screw (4).
  4. Use the previous instructions to remove ALL remaining plate screws (4).
  5. Remove the EN-51146 - 1 - 2  plate (5).
  6. Remove the EN-51146 - 1 - 6  demounting screw and EN-51146 - 1 - 1  support combinations (1) from the inner and outer fuel injector bolt holes for ANY fuel injector being serviced or replaced.

    NOTE: The EN-51146 - 1 - 1  supports MUST remain installed at ANY fuel injectors that will NOT be removed or replaced.
  7. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1).

  8. Remove the fuel injector (2) from the fuel injection fuel rail.
