Circuit/System Description

The auxiliary heater coolant pump relay provides power to the heater coolant pump. The engine control module (ECM) commands the ON when the engine is not running. The ECM applies ground to the coil side of the auxiliary pump relay. This energizes the coil and applies voltage directly to the pump motor through the switch side of the relay. The heater coolant pump is used for powertrain cooling and HVAC.
