Conditions for Setting the DTC

P0401 

The ECM detects a change in the EGR flow rate is greater than a calibrated amount when the EGR is commanded ON. During a closed throttle decel condition, the EGR valve is normally closed. This diagnostic opens the valve to a pre-determined position and the change in MAP is computed and correlates to the flow rate of the EGR system.
