Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement 
  2. Support the engine. Refer to Engine Support Fixture 
  3. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield - Remove Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield Replacement
  4. Engine Front Cover - Remove Engine Front Cover Replacement 
  5. Exhaust Front Pipe - Remove Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG)
  6. Transmission Rear Mount Bracket - Remove Transmission Rear Mount Bracket Replacement
  7. Catalytic Converter Brace Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  8. Catalytic Converter Brace (2) - Remove
  9. Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter - Remove Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (LTG)
  10. Engine Oil Cooler - Remove Engine Oil Cooler Replacement 
  11. Air Conditioning Compressor Bolt (1) - Remove

  12. Transmission Bolt (1) - Remove

  13. Remove the oil pan to transmission bolts. (1, 2) - Remove

  14. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield - Remove Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield Replacement
  15. Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

  16. Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]
  17. Remove the front axle shaft assembly bolt (3).
  18. Remove the long oil pan bolts (3), medium bolt (2) and short bolts (1), then remove the oil pan.

  19. Clean and inspect the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection 
  20. Transfer components as necessary.
