Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Apply a 4.25 mm bead of sealer (1) on the level part of the flange around the perimeter of the oil pan (2) as shown. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers .

    NOTE:
    • The lower crankcase surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
    • Install and align the oil pan to block within 10 minutes of applying the sealer.
    • The oil pan must be fastened to final torque specification within 60 minutes of applying the sealer.
  2. Install the oil pan and hand start the oil pan bolts (1), (2) and (3).

    NOTE: When installing the oil pan, carefully align the oil pan to the locating pins then install the pan onto the lower crankcase.
  3. Tighten the oil pan bolts in sequence to final torque twice using the following procedure:

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Tighten

    1. Tighten bolts in sequence 1 - 11 to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
    2. Tighten bolts in sequence 12 - 13 to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  4. Transmission Rear Mount Bracket - Install Transmission Rear Mount Bracket Replacement
  5. Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter - Install Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (LTG)
  6. Engine Oil Cooler - Install Engine Oil Cooler Replacement 
  7. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield - Install Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield Replacement
  8. Air Conditioning Compressor Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  9. Catalytic Converter Brace (2) - Install

  10. Catalytic Converter Brace Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  11. Transmission Bolt (1, 2) - Install and tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft)

  12. Transmission Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft)

  13. Install the front axle shaft assembly bolt. Tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft)

  14. Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  15. Connect the electrical connector. (1)
  16. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield - Install Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield Replacement
  17. Exhaust Front Pipe - Install Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG)
  18. Engine Front Cover - Install Engine Front Cover Replacement 
  19. Engine Support Fixture - Remove Engine Support Fixture 
  20. Change the engine oil and filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
