Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. When installing the engine oil cooler, position the engine oil cooler so that the tab (1) is against the engine block (2).

  2. Install a NEW seal. (3)

  3. Install the engine oil cooler. (2)
  4. Install the engine oil cooler connector. 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
    CAUTION: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .
  5. Install the oil cooler inlet and outlet hoses. (2) Refer to Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  6. Install the engine oil cooler pipe fastener. 10 N.m (89 lb in)
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  7. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Heat Shield Replacement - Install
  8. Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Install - Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (LTG)
  9. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)
  10. Change the engine oil and filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
