Circuit/System Verification

- Vehicle in Service Mode.
- With a scan tool check the Power Steering Control Module for any DTCs.
- If any DTCs are present in the Power Steering Control Module
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle in Power Steering Diagnostic Information and Procedures.
- If there are no DTCs are present in the Power Steering Control Module
- If any DTCs are present in the Power Steering Control Module
- Verify that the steering gear assembly is not incorrectly installed.
- If the steering gear assembly is installed incorrectly
Refer to Electric Dual Pinion Rack and Pinion Steering Gear Replacement
- If the steering gear assembly is installed correctly
- If the steering gear assembly is installed incorrectly
- Perform the Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Centering
procedure.
- If the Steering Angle Sensor Centering procedure corrected the DTC
Proceed to step 7
- If the Steering Angle Sensor Centering procedure did not correct the DTC
- If the Steering Angle Sensor Centering procedure corrected the DTC
- Verify that the inflatable restraint and sensing diagnostic module is installed correctly.
- If inflatable restraint and sensing diagnostic module is not installed correctly
- If inflatable restraint and sensing diagnostic module is installed correctly
- Replace the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module.
- All OK
