Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LKN)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) 
  2. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank -Remove Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (LKN Radiator Surge Tank to Water Outlet to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Outlet Pipe) 
  3. Heater Coolant Pump Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank -Remove Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump Inlet LKN)Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Pump Outlet LKN)
1 Radiator Surge Tank Bolt
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Radiator Surge Tank

Procedure

  1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) 
  2. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
