Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LFV)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) 
  2. Heater Coolant Pump Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank Remove - Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Inlet)Heater Coolant Pump Hose Replacement (Outlet)
  3. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank Remove - Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe to Radiator Surge Tank, LFV) Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe to Water Outlet, LFV) 
1 Radiator Surge Tank Bolt
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Radiator Surge Tank

Procedure

  1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static) Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) 
  2. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
