Circuit/System Verification

Verify that all range selections of the S77 transfer case shift control switch match the following parameters in the Data Display feature of the scan tool:
- Range Actuator Position
- Transfer Case Commanded Position
- Transfer Case Range
- If NOT all of the parameters match the S77 transfer case shift control switch position
  Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If ALL of the parameters match the S77 transfer case shift control switch position
Verify that for all range selections of the S77 transfer case shift control switch, the Transfer Case Range Position Sensor parameter and the Range Actuator Position Sensor parameter track within 5 degrees of each other.
- If the parameters do NOT track within 5 degrees of each other
  Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If the parameters DO track within 5 degrees of each other
Verify DTC C0392, P0642, or P0643 is only set as a history DTC.
- If any of the DTCs are set as current
  Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If any of the DTCs are only set as history

NOTE:

After inspection, apply Nyogel lubricant 760G to each connector terminal. Ensure each connector and CPA is correctly seated.

Visually inspect each connector terminal of the K69 transfer case control module X1 connector and the B227 gear position sensor connector for damage or corrosion. Repair as necessary.
Clear DTC C0392, P0642, or P0643 from history.
Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data. The DTC should not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
  Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If none of the DTCs set
All OK.
