Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify that all range selections of the S77 transfer case shift control switch match the following parameters in the Data Display feature of the scan tool:
    • Transfer Case Commanded Position
    • Transfer Case Range
    • Transfer Case Range Selection Switch State
    • The corresponding Range Indicator light
    • If NOT all of the parameters match the S77 transfer case shift control switch position 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • If ALL of the parameters match the S77 transfer case shift control switch position 
  2. Verify that the sensor reference voltage 3 and transfer case range selection switch voltage fall within the below ranges for all range selections of the S77 transfer case shift control switch.
    • If NOT all voltages match the specified ranges 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • If ALL voltages match the specified ranges 
  3. Verify DTC B2725, P0698, or P0699 is only set as a history DTC.
    • If any of the DTCs are set as current 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • If any of the DTCs are only set as history 
  4. NOTE:

    After inspection, apply Nyogel lubricant 760G to each connector terminal. Ensure each connector and CPA is correctly seated.

  5. Visually inspect each connector terminal of the K69 transfer case control module X1 connector and the S77 transfer case shift control switch connector for damage or corrosion. Repair as necessary.
  6. Clear DTC 2725, P0698, or P0699 from history.
  7. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data. The DTC should not set.
    • If any of the DTCs are set 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • If none of the DTCs set 
  8. All OK.
