Circuit/System Description

The instrument cluster displays vehicle information such as vehicle speed based on information from the engine control module (ECM). The ECM sends information via serial data to the body control module (BCM). The BCM then sends the information via serial data to the instrument cluster to display the vehicle speed and the distance travelled, either in kilometers or miles, based on the vehicle requirements.
