Callout	Component Name
Preliminary Procedure Use the EN-50790 alignment gauge to ensure that the camshaft lobe is in the base circle position. At base circle position, the tool will be flush with the head. NOTE: The camshaft must be in the base circle position before the high pressure fuel pump is installed. Lubricate the fuel pump cylinder head bore with clean, silicone-free 5W30 engine oil. Special Tools EN-50790 HP Fuel Pump Installation Alignment GaugeFor equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
1	Fuel Pump Valve Lifter Follower NOTE: Ensure that the fuel pump valve lifter is oriented properly and the camshaft is at base circle. Procedure Lubricate the fuel pump valve lifter with 5W30 engine oil and install into the cylinder head bore. Tighten 10 N.m (89 lb in)
2	Fuel Pump Housing O-Ring Procedure Lubricate the NEW O-ring with one drop of clean engine oil. Install the O-ring on the fuel pump.
3	Fuel Pump Housing Gasket NOTE: Use a NEW gasket. Ensure the gasket is properly aligned with the tab upward at the 2 O'clock position.
4	Fuel Pump Assembly
5	Fuel Pump Bolts (Qty: 2) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . CAUTION: Alternately hand-tighten the fuel pump bolts one turn at a time until the pump is fully seated. Trying to draw down the pump without even side-to-side tightening may result in pump plunger damage. Procedure Apply theadlocker to the bolts, refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (LKW)Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers (LTG) . Tighten the bolts evenly using the following procedure: Tighten the bolts a first pass to 8 N.m (71 lb in) Tighten the bolts a final pass 50 degrees using the EN-45059 meter. 6	Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Procedure Hand start both ends of the NEW fuel feed intermediate pipe. Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel rail a final pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). Tighten the fitting nut to the fuel pump a final pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
7	Fuel Pump Insulator NOTE: Replace the noise cancelling foam component if it is exposed to and has absorbed automotive fluids.
8	Fuel Pump Cover
9	Fuel Pump Cover bolts (Qty: 3) Tighten 10 N.m (89 lb in)
