Airbag Front Passenger Presence Sensor Replacement

WARNING: To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the driver or passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the front seat cushion cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement .

Procedures

  1. Remove the hog rings that attach the passenger presence system to the foam cushion pad.
  2. Remove the passenger presence system from the foam cushion pad and heater assembly, if equipped.
  3. When installing the passenger presence system. Refer to Control Module References .
  4. Tuck the passenger presence system into the cushion pad trench at the proper locations.
  5. Transfer components as necessary.
  6. Note the routing of the wiring harness and connector location for installation.
