Preliminary Procedures
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Finish Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the quarter lower rear trim panel. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the quarter window trim finish panel. Refer to Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Replacement

Liftgate Wiring Harness Grommet
Procedure
Disconnect the grommet from the liftgate and body. |

Liftgate Wiring Harness Body Connector Procedure
- Disconnect the liftgate electrical harness body connectors from the body harness.
- Pull the harness in the direction of the arrow, up through the rear quarter panel.

Liftgate Wiring Harness High Mount Stop Lamp Connector Procedure
- Disconnect the high mount stop lamp connector.
- Pull the harness in the direction of the arrow, through the top of the liftgate.

Liftgate Wiring Harness Connectors Procedure
- Disconnect the following electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the wiper motor connector.
- Disconnect the liftgate actuator connector.
- Disconnect the heater wiring harness connector.
- Disconnect the rear license plate lamp connector.
- Disconnect the rear latch release connector.
- Pull the complete liftgate wiring harness in the direction of the arrow, down through the side of the liftgate and out through the liftgate opening.
