Rear Side Door Adjustment
- Align the front door to the front fender first, if needed. Refer to Front Side Door Adjustment
- Loosen the door hinge to center pillar retaining bolts. This will allow adjustment of the rear door at the center pillar in the following directions:
- Up or down (a), 6.5 mm equal gap.
- Fore or aft (b), 3.5 mm equal gap.
- Up or down (c), 5 mm upwards.
- Reposition the door as needed.
- Position the door fore or aft at the center pillar attachment. Perform the following steps as needed:
- Loosen the bolts.
- Reposition the door.
- Tighten the bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Verify the rear doors are flush to within 3.5 mm, with a flushing magnet located in the striker area below the beltline.
- If in or out adjustment is needed, loosen the door hinge to door retaining bolts.
- Position the door in or out. Perform the following steps as needed:
- Loosen the bolts.
- Reposition the door.
- Tighten the bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Align the door to the front door and rear quarter, if needed.
- Position the door in or out. Perform the following steps as needed:
- Loosen the bolts.
- Reposition the door.
- Tighten the bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Verify door header to door header at the center pillar is flush to within 3.5 mm. Adjust the door headers if necessary.
- Verify all door gaps are within specifications.
- Adjust the rear side door lock striker. Refer to Rear Side Door Lock Striker Replacement .
