Hood Adjustment

CAUTION:

Procedure

  1. Install a suitable hood brace to the vehicle.
  2. Loosen the 4 hood hinge retaining bolts.
  3. Loosen the 2 fender to hood hinge retaining bolts.
  4. Loosen the 4 hood hinge to hood retaining nuts.
  5. Adjust the hood in order to obtain an even gap on both sides between the hood and the fenders and the front bumper fascia. Also confirm that the hood is flush with both fenders on the front edge, and the front bumper fascia.

Adjustment:

  • Adjust the hood to obtain an even gap between 2.25 mm to 3.75 mm on both sides between the hood and the fenders (a), so that the hood is flush with both fenders on the front edge.
  • Adjust the hood to obtain an even gap between 2 mm to 6 mm between the hood and the front bumper fascia (b), so that the hood is flush with the front bumper fascia.

Tighten

  • Tighten the hood hinge to hood retaining nuts to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
  • Tighten the fender to hood hinge retaining bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
  • Tighten the hood hinge retaining bolts to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
