Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain and Tensioner Replacement .
  2. Remove and DISCARD the bolt (1) and remove the actuator (2).

    NOTE:
    • Install an open-end wrench to the camshaft flats located on the intake camshaft.
    • While holding the open-face wrench steady loosen the camshaft actuator bolt.
