Front Side Door Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Place masking tape on the rear edge of the fender and the front edge of the door to prevent clipping the paint when removing to door.
  2. Mark the location of the hinge before removing the bolts with a grease pencil.
  3. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  4. Remove the front door trim if replacing the door. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Replacement .
1 Front Side Door Check Link Bolt to Body
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution

Procedure

  1. Remove the water deflector.
  2. Disconnect the door electrical connector.
  3. Remove the fender inner liner to access door bolts.
  4. Support the door before removing the hinge bolts.
  5. With an assistant, remove the door from the vehicle.

Tighten 
22 N.m (16 lb ft)
2 Front Side Door Upper Hinge Bolt to Door (Qty: 2)
Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
3 Front Side Door Lower Hinge Bolt to Door (Qty: 2)
Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
4 Front Side Door Assembly

Procedure

  1. When replacing the door it is necessary to transfer all of the internal components.
  2. Check the door for proper alignment, Refer to Front Side Door Adjustment .
