| Clutch is improperly installed |
Remove the clutch and install it correctly. Refer to Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement (1.4L LUV) and Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement (1.8L LUW and LWE) . |
| Clutch disc damper worn or damaged |
- Inspect the clutch disc for a broken or worn damper.
- Replace the clutch assembly. Refer to Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement (1.4L LUV) and Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement (1.8L LUW and LWE) .

| Oil in the driven plate damper |
Correct the cause of the oil leak and replace the clutch assembly. Refer to Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement (1.4L LUV) and Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement (1.8L LUW and LWE) . |
| Clutch disc splines and input shaft splines worn |
- Inspect the clutch disc hub to input shaft splines for excessive clearance.
- Replace the clutch assembly if the clutch splines are worn. Refer to Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement (1.4L LUV) and Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement (1.8L LUW and LWE) .
- Replace the transmission (M32) if it is worn. Refer to Transmission Replacement
for M32 transmission.
