Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe to the vehicle.

  2. Remove the plug and/or caps from the pipe and transmission.
  3. Install the nut (4) to the transmission fluid cooler inlet pipe fitting bolt (1) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft). Use NEW O-ring (2).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Raise the vehicle.
  5. Install the nut (6) to the transmission fluid cooler outlet pipe fitting bolt (7) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft). Use NEW O-ring (8).
  6. Connect the 2 plastic clips (2) to the quick connect fittings of transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe (1). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (6T30-MH9 and 6T40-MH8)  and Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (AF40-MDK) .

  7. Install the transmission fluid cooler outlet pipe to the clip to the fan shroud clip (4).
  8. Install the battery tray. Battery Tray Replacement .
  9. Install the left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  10. Check and correct the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
  11. Check for leaks.
