Removal Procedure

  1. Set the parking brake.
  2. Battery Tray Replacement »Remove
  3. Selector Lever and Shift Lever Cable @ Shift Control Housing»Remove - Manual Transmission Shift Lever and Selector Lever Cable Replacement 
  4. Backup Lamp Switch Replacement »Remove
  5. Push the selector lever (2) against driving direction and move the blocking device (1) along the arrow in order to block the shift control housing.

    NOTE:
    • The shift control housing may stuck, in that case pry carefully with a tool between shift control housing and transmission.
    • Lift up the shift control housing to a suitable height, then properly tilt the housing to remove it.
    • The inner parts of the transmission will not be damaged while removing the shift control housing. The removal procedure is not as critical as on the M32-6 Gen1 transmission.
  8. Remove and DISCARD the shift control housing seal (1). If the seal is not present on the shift control housing, remove the seal at the transmission.
