Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Shift Control Housing Seal (1) »Install a NEW O-ring seal.
NOTE:
- Prior to starting the installation process, confirm that the old shift control housing seal is removed.
- A NEW seal should be provided with the replacement shift control housings. If the old shift control housing will be re-used, a NEW seal is still required.
- Make sure that the NEW vent cap is installed by the NEW shift control housing.
- Verify that the shift forks (1) align.
- Shift Control Housing (1)»Install
NOTE:
- The lower shift control housing shaft is difficult to insert into the bearing.
- To facilitate the installation block the shift control housing.
- Shift Control Housing Bolt (1) @ Shift Control Housing (2) » Install and tighten [2x] (20 N.m (15 lb ft)
CAUTION: Fastener CautionCAUTION: Ensure that the shift control housing flange is fully seated against the transmission case. If the flange does not fully seat, then the housing shaft is not properly seated in the case bushing and must be realigned. The housing shaft must be fully seated in the case bushing. Failure to follow this caution will result in transmission failure.
- Move the blocking device (1) along the arrow in order to unblock the shift control housing.

- Manual Transmission Shift Lever and Selector Lever Cable Adjustment »AdjustNOTE: Always perform the selector lever cable adjustment procedure, even if the cables appear to fit properly.
- Verify correct operation of the transmission control assembly.
