Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission magnet (1) to the clutch housing.

  2. Shift Control Housing Seal (3) »Install

  3. Shift Control Housing (2) »Install
  4. Shift Control Housing Bolt (1)»Install and tighten [2x] 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
  5. Backup Lamp Switch (1)»Install and tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

  6. Clean the sealing surface at the transmission case. The sealing surface must be free from oil and grease.

  7. Apply sealant (1).
    • Apply 2 - 3 mm (0.08 - 0.12 in) thick.
    • Apply between the inner side of the bores and the inner edge of the transmission case.
    • Apply without interruption.
  8. Install the transmission case. Install the 16 NEW transmission case bolts and tighten in sequence a first pass to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

    CAUTION: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .
    NOTE: Position 16 is the only different bolt, previously marked.
  9. Tighten the transmission case bolts in sequence a final pass to an additional 30-45 degrees, using the EN-45059  meter.
  10. Release the pin (2) to unlock the DT-6115  holder (1).

  11. Turn the clutch housing along with the DT-6115  holder 180 degrees. Clutch side facing upwards.
  12. Lock the DT-6115  holder with the pin.
  13. Install NEW input shaft seal ring (2), using the DT-60000-160  installer (1) respectively the DT-60000-170  installer (1). Hammer in flush. Make sure that the seal lip fits correct.

    NOTE: The correct special tool depends on the input shaft diameter. During the installation the seal ring is positioned on the special tool.
  14. Clutch Actuator Cylinder (1) »Install

    CAUTION: Clutch Actuator Cylinder and Seal Caution
  15. Install 3 NEW clutch actuator cylinder bolts (2) and hand-tighten them equally.
  16. Tighten the 3 NEW clutch actuator cylinder bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in)
  17. Install the clutch actuator cylinder pipe (2) to the clutch actuator cylinder pipe sleeve (1).

  18. Release the pin to unlock the DT-6115  holder.

  19. Turn the transmission (1) and the DT-6115  holder (2) 180 degrees. Transmission side facing upwards.
  20. Lock the DT-6115  holder with the pin.
  21. Remove the 2 bolts. Remove the transmission from the DT-6115  holder.
    NOTE: 2nd technician required.
  22. Perform function check.

    During shifting all gears turn the input shaft. Input shaft must be turnable by hand. Where necessary, use the DT-60000-140  turning tool respectively the DT-60000-150  turning tool.
