Diagnostic Aids

- The battery must be fully charged. Refer to Battery Inspection/Test .
- Remove and inspect the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor for metal debris on the output shaft facing end of the sensor.
- Inspect the transmission output shaft target wheel teeth for damage.
- Visually inspect the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor for cracks or damage.
- Ensure the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor is not loose and is properly torqued to the transmission.
- When a speed sensor fault is present, the scan tool Output Shaft Speed Sensor parameter may show a defaulted processed speed, based on another source such as Antilock Brake System (ABS) wheel speed. Use of this parameter is not recommended for fault diagnosis.
