Removal Procedure

  1. Before performing the first steps, review the Emission Reduction Fluid and Emission Reduction Fluid Handling .
  2. Remove the emission reduction fluid tank filler cap (1).

  3. Drain the emission reduction fluid tank. Refer to Emission Reduction Fluid Tank Draining .
  4. Remove the emission reduction fluid tank insulator - upper. Refer to Emission Reduction Fluid Tank Insulator Replacement - Upper .
  5. Remove the emission reduction fluid pump module wiring harness. Refer to Emission Reduction Fluid Pump Module Wiring Harness Replacement .
  6. Remove the emission reduction fluid supply pump module. Refer to Emission Reduction Fluid Supply Pump Module Replacement .
  7. Loosen the emission reduction fluid exhaust front pipe injector supply pipe (1) from the retainer (4) and lay aside.

  8. Disconnect the emission reduction fluid tank vent elbow (3) at the emission reduction fluid tank vent elbow quick connector (2).
  9. Carefully remove the level and temperature emission reduction fluid tank module (1) from the emission reduction fluid tank by releasing the retaining tab (2) and sliding module away from retainer (3).

  10. Disconnect the emission reduction fluid tank vent elbow (1) from the emission reduction fluid tank reservoir (4).

    NOTE: Gently pry up on elbow until it releases from the cover flange.
  11. Remove the emission reduction fluid tank reservoir. Refer to Emission Reduction Fluid Tank Reservoir Replacement .
  12. Remove the level and temperature emission reduction fluid tank module (2) from the retainer (1) by pull the lash (2) back in the direction as shown and pull out the level and temperature emission reduction fluid module (1) from the retainer (3) in the direction as shown.

  13. Remove the 3 emission reduction fluid tank bolts (1).

  14. Remove the emission reduction fluid tank (2).
  15. Remove the emission reduction fluid tank insulator - lower. Refer to Emission Reduction Fluid Tank Insulator Replacement - Lower .
