Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

A Reductant Fluid Quality Test is required when an incorrect reductant composition is monitored or the NOx catalyst efficiency reaches a minimum threshold and a reductant quality warning is displayed on the driver information center (DIC). When a reductant quality test is commanded, the engine control module (ECM) controls the following:

  1. Engine speed is slowly increased to 3, 000 RPM.
  2. The ECM maintains engine speed at 3, 000 RPM for up to 60 minutes until quality test is complete, is cancelled by the technician or is aborted due to abnormal conditions.
  3. The ECM then slowly decreases engine speed to the normal idle speed.
