Circuit/System Verification

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Inspect the fuel system for damage or external leaks before proceeding.
  2. Verify that adequate fuel is in the fuel tank before proceeding.
  3. Ignition ON, command the fuel pump relay ON and OFF with a scan tool.
  4. Verify the fuel pump turns ON and OFF with each command.
    • If the fuel pump turns ON and OFF
  5. Observe the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor parameter with a scan tool. During engine cranking, the pressure should be greater than 10 MPa (1450 psi). With the engine running at idle the pressure should be close to the Desired Fuel Rail Pressure. As the engine speed is increased, the Desired Fuel Rail Pressure and the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor should closely match each other.
    • If 10 MPa (1450 psi) or less or the Fuel Rail Pressure parameters do not closely match

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing

    • If greater than 10 MPa (1450 psi) and Fuel Rail Pressure parameters closely match
  6. All OK.
