Fuel Pressure Regulator 1

  1. Reconnect the harness connector at Q18A Fuel Pressure Regulator 1
  2. Clear all DTC's using the scan tool.
  3. Engine idling.
  4. Fuel temperature must be greater than 15°C (59°F)
  5. Using the scan tool, command the Fuel Rail Pressure to 60 MPa (8702 psi) for 15 seconds. This allows the Q18B Fuel Pressure Regulator 2 adaptation process to complete.
  6. Engine idle stable for 1 minute.
  7. Observe the live plot for sharp changes or shark tooth pattern in the Fuel Rail Pressure while performing the following actions:
    • Engine at idle and 1800 RPM
    • While at idle, shift the automatic transmission, if equipped, from Park to Drive and back to Park
    • Turn the air conditioning ON and OFF
  8. Verify a violent fluctuation in the Fuel Rail Pressure is not displayed, as seen in the surging graph below.
    • If a violent fluctuation in the Fuel Rail Pressure is not displayed 
  9. All OK.
