System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Clean all of the fuel system lines using brake cleaning solvent and let dry. For example, the fuel injection pump, the fuel injectors and rail and supply lines.
  2. Add 8 ounces of oil dye to the fuel tank.
  3. Start and idle the engine for 3-5 min.
  4. Inspect for fuel leaks around the fuel injection pump, fuel rails and fuel supply lines with a J-28428-E  high intensity black light kit. A fuel leak should not exist.
NOTE: A fuel leak may be caused by a restricted fuel return line.
    • If a fuel leak is located, tighten or replace any leaking lines or components.
