Circuit/System Verification

NOTE:
If not referred to this test from another diagnostic, do not perform this procedure.
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that no DTCs are set except for DTC P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 or P0304
- If any other DTCs are set.
- If no other DTCs are set
- Start and run the engine until the coolant temperature is more than 82°C (180°F). Turn OFF all accessories.
- Using the scan tool, Verify the Fuel Injector Balance rates are between +10 mm3
and -10 mm3
in Park or Neutral.NOTE: Balance rates outside the range may indicate contaminated fuel.
- If the balance rate is greater than +10 mm 3
or less than -10 mm 3
Refer to Contaminants-in-Fuel Diagnosis .
- If the balance rate is between +10 mm 3 and -10 mm 3
- If the balance rate is greater than +10 mm 3
or less than -10 mm 3
- Perform the Cylinder Power Balance Test with a scan tool.NOTE:
- The Cylinder Power Balance Test must be performed under the conditions for which the customer concern occurred.
- Do not operate the cruise control during this test. Cruise control may cause a brief surge of engine speed after the completion of the test.
- During cylinder cancellation a noticeable power difference will feel like a misfiring cylinder or vibration.
- If a condition is found during the cylinder power balance test.
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- If a condition is not found during the cylinder power balance test.
- All OK.
