WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition Off, disconnect the Q47 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Bypass Solenoid Valve.
- Connect the GE 23738-A to the vacuum inlet port on the valve.
- Apply 70 kPa (20.7 in. Hg.) vacuum to the valve.
- Verify the valve holds vacuum.
- If the valve does not hold vacuum
Replace the Q47 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Bypass Solenoid Valve.
- If the valve holds vacuum
- If the valve does not hold vacuum
- Install a 10 A fused jumper wire between the ignition circuit terminal 1 and 12 V. Install a jumper wire between the control terminal 2 and ground.NOTE: Verify the valve is still holding vacuum before proceeding with the next step
- Verify the solenoid clicks and the vacuum goes to 0 kPa (0 in. Hg.)
- If the solenoid does not click or the vacuum does not go to 0 kPa (0 in. Hg.)
Replace the Q47 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Bypass Solenoid Valve.
- If the solenoid clicks and the vacuum goes to 0 kPa (0 in. Hg.)
- If the solenoid does not click or the vacuum does not go to 0 kPa (0 in. Hg.)
- All OK
