Diagnostic Aids

- If the engine has cooled overnight, all exhaust gas temperature sensors and the engine coolant temperature sensor values should display within 3°C (5°F).
- During and after a DPF regeneration or exhaust gas temperature monitoring request, the diagnostic will be delayed for 4 minutes.
- If the vehicle was in a DPF regeneration or exhaust gas temperature monitoring condition at shut off and then restarted within 60 minutes, the diagnostic is delayed for 4 minutes after engine start. If restarted at greater than 60 minutes engine off, the normal 327 s delay is in effect.
- After starting a cold engine, the exhaust gas temperature sensors temperature should rise steadily, then stabilize after the engine reaches operating temperature.
- High resistance in either circuit of an exhaust gas temperature sensor could set a DTC.
