Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The intake air flow valve is a normally open valve and is operated during diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration and in the event that the engine control module (ECM) detects the engine speed increases beyond desired control limits. Upon detection, the engine will be shutdown by closing the intake air flow valve and disabling the fuel injectors. The position of the valve is controlled by the ECM. The intake air flow valve system uses a position sensor located within the valve assembly to monitor the position of the valve.

The intake air flow valve uses a motor to move the valve blade to an open or closed position.
