Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition On.
- Verify DTC UXXXX is not set.
- If a DTC is set
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- If no DTC is set
- If a DTC is set
- Verify the following conditions do not exist:
- Induction system leaks-Refer to Induction System Smoke Test in Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis (Induction System Air Leak Test) , Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis (Induction System Smoke Test) and Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis .
- Exhaust system leaks-Refer to Exhaust Leakage
- A loose or disconnected charge air cooler hose or pipe
- Physical damage
- Soot plugged B195 NOx sensor
- Loose or missing hardware
- Loose B195 NOx sensors or B131 Exhaust Temperature Sensors
- If a condition is found
Repair the intake or exhaust system.
- If no condition is found
- Engine running and at operating temperature.
- Verify NOx Sensor 1 NOx Concentration is greater than 0 ppm.
- Accelerate vehicle to 18-59 km/h (11-37 mph) and hold at a steady cruise until the DTC reports PASS or FAIL.WARNING: Road test a vehicle under safe conditions and while obeying all traffic laws. Do not attempt any maneuvers that could jeopardize vehicle control. Failure to adhere to these precautions could lead to serious personal injury and vehicle damage.
- If the DTC fails
Replace the faulty B195 NOx sensor 1.
- If the DTC passes
- If the DTC fails
- Accelerate vehicle to 72 km/h (45 mph) and hold at a steady cruise for 60 s, then decelerate for 5 s until the DTC reports PASS or FAIL after the second deceleration event.NOTE: The following step must be performed twice in order for DTC P11D3 and P11D4 to run.
- If the DTC does not pass
Replace the faulty B195 NOx Sensor.
- If the DTC passes
- If the DTC does not pass
- All OK.
