Circuit/System Verification

NOTE:
  • To minimize the effects of residual engine heat and sensor internal heating elements, perform Steps  1 and  2 of this verification procedure only if the ignition has been OFF for 8 hours or more.
  • The vehicle sitting in direct sun light may skew the results.
  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Verify the following scan tool parameters are within 25°C (77°F) of each other.
    • Charge Air Cooler Temperature
    • IAT Sensor 3
    • If not within 25°C (77°F) 

      Refer to Circuit System Testing.

    • If within 25°C (77°F) 
  3. Engine idling.
  4. Verify the following scan tool parameters are within the specified ranges.
    • Charge Air Cooler Temperature; -39 to +198°C (-38 to +388°F)
    • IAT Sensor 3; -39 to +213°C (-38 to +415°F)
    • If not within the specified ranges 

      Refer to Circuit System Testing.

    • If within the specified ranges 
  5. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
  6. Verify the DTC does not set.
    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • If the DTC does not set 
  7. All OK.
